Comic Book Resources spoke with Archie Publisher/Co-CEO Jon Goldwater on the recent wave of press surrounding the company, including the recently announced live-action Archie movie by Warner Bros., Afterlife With Archie, the Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch animated series on The Hub, the new Archie mobile game by Gogii Games and more.

In regards to the movie, Goldwater states that Archie will be very involved in the final version of the film, "we've taken our time to assemble this creative team --That makes me feel very comfortable that where we're going with the 'Archie' movie is going to translate the comic book page to the screen. We're all like-minded in our vision. We believe so much in the IP and in the integrity of our characters....

iVerse media has just released updated versions of the Archie Comics and Sonic Comics iOS apps. In addition to minor bug fixes and improved performance,  residents of Canada can now click on a banner in both apps that will take them directly to the Archie: Betty or Veronica? mobile game by Gogii Games! Warner Bros. Pictures to produce a live action Archie movie

 

New York, NY — Archie Comics is proud to announce that Warner Bros. Pictures will be producing a live-action Archie movie based on the Archie Comics characters. This is the first feature film starring the Riverdale gang in the publisher’s 72 year history.

 

Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) will direct a script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (MGM’s Carrie, The Town that Dreaded Sundown), who is hot off writing Archie Meets Glee, the highly publicized comic book crossover with the popular FOX TV series on which Aguirre-Sacasa serves as writer/producer. Aguirre-Sacasa will also be penning the forthcoming zombie series Afterlife With Archie that was previously announced by Deadline in March.

 

Roy Lee and Dan Lin will produce, while Jon Goldwater, Krishnan Menon, and Jon Silk will serve as Executive Producers. Details on the story reveal it will be a “high school comedy based on the original line of Archie Comics...
