ARCHIE CREATORS ON THE ROAD...

ARCHIE COMIC'S Dan Parent will be at FanExpo Tronto August 22-25. Dan ia graduate of The Kubert School, Dan began working for Archie immediately after graduation. His writing of the Love Showdown series from 1994 received widespread attention. Dan wrote the first bi-racial coupling of Archie and Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats. Archie then introduced their first openly gay character, Kevin Keller, in Veronica #202, which was written and drawn by Parent. Dan also design and creation of a number of new students introduced in a six-issue storyline called “New Kids Off the Wall”, written by Alex Simmons. The characters of various ethnicity and background were added to diversify the Riverdale High.Dan has also depicted a visit from President Obama and Sarah Palin.

ARCHIE COMIC'S Fernando Ruiz will be at FanExpo Tronto August 22-25. A Graduate of the infamous Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Fernando has since embarked on a career as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator. He has drawn for comic books, books, toy designs, and storyboards. A writer and artist for Archie Comics, his work has appeared regularly in various Archie comic books and digests. Several years ago, Fernando returned to the Joe Kubert School, this time as an instructor, and he has been teaching there ever since. Currently, Fernando is a resident of New Jersey where he lives with his fiance, Carolyn, his two cats, Oobie and Marla, and his bird, Mango.

ARCHIE COMIC'S Bil Galvan will be at Salt Lake Comic Con September 5-7. Bill Galvan has been a comic book fan all his life, and has been drawing comics professionally for the past 10 years. Bill currently draws for Archie Comics as a freelance penciller, working on the graphic novels “Archie: Freshman Year”, books 1 and 2. He continues to edit and pencil the non-profit all ages series The Scrapyard Detectives for the Diversity Foundation, which he also co-created.
