Newsarama spoke with Sonic and Mega Man writer Ian Flynn about the highly anticipated crossover between the blue video game warriors. A momentous clash of two classic heroes, Flynn talks at length on the steps taken to make this world shattering event go from dream concept to realization.
“I never thought it would happen,” Flynn admits. “It's too good to be true. And yet here we are, and I ain't complaining!” The fan favorite scribe has been tackling Sonic writing duties on both the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog series as well as spin-off title Sonic Universe and was also tapped to take on Mega Man, adding another video game inspired title to his oeuvre.
Flynn expressed his enthusiasm for the chance to take on the first meeting of these iconic characters in any medium. “I've thrown everything I can into this. Lots of action, lots of general fun, with robots exploding everywhere. If you're already a fan of the two Sonic books and/or Mega Man, you know what to expect.”
The 12-part crossover will take place over four months in the Sonic, Sonic Universe and Mega Man titles in early 2013. Get subscribed to these action/adventure titles and prepare yourself for the most exciting crossover of 2013.
