In an article posted on ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY's Family Room blog, scholar Jonathan Gray discusses bonding with his tween daughter over, what else, Archie Comics. Despite the differences in tastes and trends from one generation to the next, Archie remains a common thread for families all across the world, evolving yet never really changing at its core.
Through his daughter, Gray discovered that in “the idyllic land of Riverdale: Archie comics frequently address real-world concerns.” Gray goes on to praise the Life with Archie series, in which “Archie makes career choices that support and empower his spouse’s desires, a particularly modern touch that resonates with our family.”
Gray’s daughter was ecstatic to read further with he presented to her the Archie Marries Valerie arc which gives fans another spin on the Archie Marries theme while exploring a whole new side of these characters in a potential future. No matter who Archie ends up with you know it’ll be a happy ending for readers, young and old.
