My Summer Job

 Hi gang.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. I didn’t want to forget that.

Well, today, I start my summer job at the Riverdale Car Wash. I told them I could work this weekend, even though school won’t officially be out until Friday.

I’m looking forward to my new job. I get to be up close and personal with all sorts of cars – and that’s pretty fun for a guy like me who just happens to love anything with wheels.

I will start by vacuuming the cars before they go into the wash. Then I will graduate to cleaning mats. By July 4th, I hope to be the guy who gets to drive the cars out of the wash at the end of the line. That’s the coolest job.

I won’t have as much free time this summer, but I’m okay with that. On rainy days they send you home. And I get all the free car washes I want for my own wheels. So, it’s a pretty sweet deal.

If you come through Riverdale this summer, stop by the car wash and say Hi!

Thanks!

I was just reading my comments and saw what Jenni and Tenniskid said about me. You made me blush! I hope Betty and Ron don't see what you wrote. They get kinda jealous. ;-)

Gotta run. The whole gang's going to the movies.

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

Hi gang. I don't know what it is with women and flowers, but have you noticed how moms go crazy every spring when the greenhouses open? I'm serious. My mom got a bad case of Gardening Fever last week and went on a shopping spree. Now, I am not a gardener. I don't mind cutting the grass, because we have this awesome riding mower that my dad turned into more of a race car than a yard tool. But my favorite flowers are fake; they never need to be watered. So, I helped my mom plant flowers yesterday. She usually decorates the yard all by herself, but this year - for some unknown reason - she bought, like 6 more flats of plants than she ever bought before. Each flat holds 36 plants. You do the math. I don't know what got into her, but after she'd spent about 4 hours outside getting sunburned and digging in the dirt, I decided she could use a little help. Jug drove by and saw us, so be stopped and helped too. After all that flower planting, Jug and I were starved, so we headed over to Pop's. I told Jug that he might have to plow a trail to my front door later this summer when all my mom's plants grow up and take over the yard. He said his mom bought a bunch of flowers too, so it looks like Riverdale's been hit with an epidemic of Gardening Fever. Does anyone at your house have it? Arch
